Gardener & Son
Tyson & Natasha — Co-Founders, Garden Makers, Storytellers
Gardener & Son was founded by Tyson and Natasha, partners in life and creative vision, who share a belief that gardens can be both ecological and deeply human. Together, they've shaped one of Melbourne's most distinctive native plant and ecological garden design studios — where science, story, and design come together to restore beauty and biodiversity.
Tyson approaches every landscape through the lens of custodianship, biophilic experience, and human health. He designs with the understanding that gardens should restore people as much as they restore place.
His work is anchored in regenerative practice, the circular economy, and a deep respect for how healthy ecosystems function — creating landscapes that elevate wellbeing and feel deeply connected to Country.
Where Tyson shapes the land, Natasha brings it to life.
Natasha designs the plant palettes, plant combinations, and spatial planting rhythms that define each Gardener & Son project. Her intuition for colour, foliage texture, seasonal expression, and the emotional tone of a space is unmatched.
In the studio, she creates environments that feel warm, soulful, and curated. In the garden, she extends that same aesthetic into living form — crafting plant communities that are not only beautiful but ecologically functional, climate-responsive, and generous to wildlife.
Tyson and Natasha blend their gifts to create gardens that are immersive, biodiverse, culturally grounded, and genuinely regenerative. Their work is defined by:
Their vision is simple: To make biodiversity mainstream — one garden, one story, one community at a time.
